Our house off of Eastland in the Shelby Bottoms area was broken into last night and about $4000 worth of electronics were stolen. We're hoping that we'll be able to retrieve at least our 15.4" MacBook Pro with 2.2 GHz processor, 4GB RAM, 500 GB hard drive; Pentax K10D camera with a Tamron macro 18-200mm lens; Sony Vaio; Playstation 3; and two Nintendo DS Lites, one pink, one red. If anyone happens to see these for sale, can you please comment or message me? I have serial numbers for the computers, camera and PS3 if needed.

Thank you!

I am so very sorry to hear about this. I browse the local Craigslist often so I'll definitely message if I see any of these things pop up there, but I hope the police find who did this quickly and get all of your things back.

I was going to mention this to you on facebook, and you may have already done this, but it's really easy to set up an RSS feed for a craigslist search string. I'd recommend setting up a tailored craigslist search and then keeping them all in a feed reader to keep tabs on.

So sorry this happened to you! I live a couple blocks away from Family Wash after the porter split, and something like this is my nightmare. :( Did you guys have renters insurance? If not, sign up ASAP - if you get it through your car insurance they'll give you a discount and its usually no more than 8-10 bucks a month.

Ill keep an eye out for your missing stuff. Hope you recover at least some of it.

Just realized that you guys might not even be renters, either way, hope you get everything worked out.

We own our house -- I contacted homeowners immediately and we've been working with them and the MNPD to get our stuff or money back. The thing that sucks is that I know if I get my laptop back, it's gonna be wiped, and all of our wedding preparation stuff is on there :/.

Aww, that really really sucks. Maybe you'll get lucky and it's just a couple of idiot kids that don't know anything about technology. The last time I lost all my data was awful. Right in the middle of a school semester- I'm getting a degree in graphic design, so I lost all of my ongoing projects and half my portfolio. Now I'm a paranoid backup freak, but it really sucked when it happened to hear everyone saying "you should have backed up." It only made me feel worse.

So I will not be lecturing you, and your loss is much greater than just data anyhow, and I really hope your stuff isn't gone forever. :(

We have a huge share drive that we were going to use to back everything up, but we never got around to it because we've been busy with work and I've been taking care of a lot of things for my parents as my mom has been recovering from brain and spinal surgery. Things were just starting to look up and then this.
